You know what I love about Vincent Jackson? He works hard, he studies hard, he is cheerful and enthusiastic. And, Vincent Jackson is a team player. Because he is well prepared to act when called upon, he gets the job done when it is most needed. Sunday, when he took the Chargers to victory over the Giants, with the final touchdown catch, his second in this game, his champion effort paid off.
A champion like Vincent always seeks ways to improve himself because he knows he has to be ready to act and react impeccably in a split second. A champion stays focused on the goal, while striving to see all the angles in which he may have to act and to be prepared. A champion has integrity, to stay on track and balance his priorities. His values are his guiding light. In football, a champion knows he is a cog in a machine that when well oiled, will speed to the goal.
It takes a certain kind of person to want to excel above and beyond the norm, who has the self-discipline to travel the long journey with all its ups and downs. Even if the Chargers hadn’t won Sunday’s game, Vincent has played his heart out all season because he has conviction in his team.
My solid bet is, even in the face of future challenges, Vincent will continue to stand out all his life.
